Breathe Carolina (2008 for Fuzz.com)

So how is the tour going so far for you guys?

Everythings been awesome. Really good, really smooth.

Whats the biggest influence on your guys music, what's your main inspiration for your songs?

Alot of Hip-hop, like new Hip-hop, Not anything like Akon and shit like that, like T-pain.
Also Thursday, UnderOath. David usually takes care of all the beats and all I just help him out. In another year stand point, He does a good job in my opinion, [this is] just the first time around. DJ Irene has been big in my world and techno, ithose just kinda brought me into this world. Just to help [David] out is great, just to give him ideas.

How long have you guys been around?

About a year and a half.

What was your very first song together as Breathe Carolina?

Actually the very first song we did together was Snowed In , its on my personal page, it's a Christmas song.
and then first EP track is Put Some Clothes On.

Is there any funny stories from this tour you could share with us?

There is a ton, man. Just alot of craziness. We get alot of weird stuff. We met Paul Wall on the tour, which is kind of cool, just randomly. He was actually playing in Witchitaw, Kansas the day after we were but he had the day off before he played so he came and we were at a hotel and we go outside; Well actually Eric, the guy who does the lights and DJ's for us came inside and said "Paul Wall's Tour Bus is outside" and we were all, "What?!" and sure enough like Paul Wall and Tech Nine's Tour bus was outside and our merch guy was out there too and he came in and was like, "Paul Wall is outside" and we went out with a couple other kids and met him.

What do you think your Biggest hit is that you have out right now?

Man, thats hard. I think every song is its own thing, you know what I mean?  We always play The Birds and The Bees last cause because I think so far that song has the best reaction so far.

Do you guys have any favorites of your own stuff?

I like Lovely alot, and I just think it has a deeper meaning behind it all, it was a time in both of our lives where things were getting really hard for us like, emotionally and I think laying that song down was important to both of us.

How long have you two been friends?

We've been friends for a while, we've known each other and hung out with each other like off and on for about 4 years but we were in other bands [at that time] and we've been pretty close now for about a year and a half. And I think in life we can all count our good friends on one hand and the other friends you have on another hand. And its cool things happen the way they did.

And you do the lyrics right?(to Kyle)

Well we both do our own parts to the songs so..We help each other out too.

What sparks the inspiration for your lyrics?

I think its more like its off the top of our head shit and when we get a strong attachment to a part of a song and its mainly just off the top of our head and we just mess around with it and the sound and we just get this feeling, its really weird but its like, its a strong feeling. We'll show each other what we've come up with on our parts we work on and we just get super hyped and like we just spawning off ideas from the top of our head and it comes together.

Do you guys bring anything on tour that reminds you of home? Do you guys get homesick at all?

We don't really at all. We bring our friends and each other so it doesn't get too homesick cause our home is with us so, and thats cool, its really exciting.

What is the best city you've guys played in, which was the most fun for you two?

I loved Anaheim, or Atlanta. Anaheim was amazing, Mick Allen was a big surprise so I really loved that show. I mean, Anaheim was great.

As an end to the interview to you have any advice to aspiring artists?

Just have fun and be yourself, make sure your having fun while your trying to make something, just be yourself, love what your doing. If you dont love what your doing, then you shouldnt do it. Be yourself and be original and love it. Have a good recording but make sure it's something you love yourself.
